Our take
Eight hollow resin stones cast to look like granite, ranging from a small single-fish pocket up to a piece large enough to anchor the whole tank's layout. The point is not the look, it is giving every fish in the tank somewhere to actually disappear to, which is what calms a fish down rather than taking cover away ever does. Rinse before use and weight larger pieces if your substrate is loose enough to let them tip.
Good to know
- 8 pieces, various sizes, resin construction
- Multiple swim-through openings per stone
- Safe for freshwater and saltwater tanks
- Inert material, will not affect water chemistry
Who it is for
- Shy or newly introduced fish that need more cover
- Community tanks with a bullied or lower-ranking fish
Who should skip it
- Nano tanks too small to fit even the smallest piece without crowding the swimming space
- Anyone wanting a single statement piece rather than scattered smaller cover
